BY THE SEA
I always wondered about the sea
And its very fascination for me
Perhaps it was its constancy
Good to share thoughts of intimacy
It never changes but then it does in some way
It has all our emotions and it understands what we say
As a child it was it was my favourite fairy tale
Of stories of mermaids and ships cast on rocks in a gale
It could be whatever I wanted it to be
Soothing, mysterious, tales of pirates on the high sea
In the sea I could loose myself completely
Drown all my emotions within it deeply
It contains all what we have and know
Understands energises and helps us grow
And like the tides they ebb and flow
As in life, there's constant change but part of the whole
Storms may come but die down and go
So relish the calmness and drink it in
It will sustain and nourish when storms brew within
And surely again when the waves die down
We will have learned much and we will have grown
